HISTORY OF AVIATION IN INDIA

The first Commercial flight by an Indian was taken by J.R.D. TATA. This was on 15 Oct. 1932. It was not a passenger air craft. This Flight was taken from Karachi to Juh. (Bombay). Within few months they start carrying passenger flight. This airline was called by TATA airlines. When the Government took over it, it was named finally named as Air India. Air India is one of the International Airlines. In 1947 Air India gave the first add for air hostess in Calcutta. Their Dress Code as a sari was Introduced in 1960’s because they wanted their Airlines to have a traditional dress code. First Airhostess was Allen Church. BOEING Company makes their first aircraft in 1950. With the name Yet Airlines. BOEING 707 aircraft had yet engines. Which have more powerful & have higher speed & fly at higher attitudes. PANAM Airlines (British Airlines) which was named in 1932. British Company Introduce Di-Hallilled. Which was very Small aircraft. This aircraft was also known as Comet-4. Which first open a Trans-Atlantic Passenger service on 4th Oct. 1958. BOEING 707 also Introduce the First round the world service on 24th Oct. 1958. The two biggest manufacturing Companies of aircraft at that time were BOEING & AIR B.
